Many people in the United States society believe that people of all cultures, races, and ethnicities are now on an even playing field. People with this belief support their logic with the argument that since equal rights for people of color and women have been required by law for some time now, we are all inherently as equal as claimed in the Declaration of Independence. Many believe that race is no longer an issue, a viewpoint frequently referred to as color-blindness. National polling data indicated that a majority of whites now believe discrimination against racial minorities no longer exists. Question: Write an essay on Indigenous Health? Answer: I am the local Australian aboriginal women, who is born and brought up in Darwin. I come from the large family, my father was Chinese and my mother was from Iran. Its quite common for the aboriginal to be a part of large families. I am the eldest among my brothers and sisters, and being the elder among siblings, my family expects me to take all the responsibility. Just like other aboriginal families, my family also faced different health problems, in spite of having the healthy lifestyle and good livings standard. My family has the chronic diseases, which might occur in relation to the lifestyle adopted by the person, or it can also happen due to genetic reasons (Lea 2008). As per the history of my family, my fathers side has different health issues like, cancer, diabetes, and strokes, and in result of that my family has to regularly visit the doctor for checkups. I have witness my family members facing health issues, but most difficult one was of my dad, who also had health problems (Lea, 2008). Since his childhood, he had to face health issues, and he had heart fever, and therefore, he had to undergo medication in his young age. Even at the age of twelve, he was admitted to hospital various times, as he had the problem of diabetes and due to this problem, he has to do undergo diagnosis (Barraclough and Gardner 2008). When my dad realize that his diabetes problem is coming normal, he again faced another health problem, and this time it was his eyesight that got effected, and after consulting with doctor, we came to know that his eyesight was deteriorating, and high risk occurred on blindness that might come in next 2-4 years. As my dad was the only child of his parents, he has to struggle to accept that he has to undergo diagnosis and therefore, he decided to take retirement, so that he could be around his children, who can take care of him. At the age of 45, while ding through the regular checkups, my dad was requested to take other tests, as our family history was not good in terms of health. After the results came of tests, we were so shock, as test depicts that there was blockage in my fathers arteries, and therefore, he took him to one of the best hospitals in Australia (Lewis 2003). My friend has also loss there family due to heart problems, therefore I was very worried about my fathers heal th. After this treatment my father started recovering and came back to his normal life, and started going on work. At the age of 60, my father went on a regular checkup at hospital, and again my whole family came under stress, as my father was diagnose with blood cancer. I was very shock, because I have lost my grandfather in cancer, and my father has also lost his best friend due to cancer. My father was very worried about his health and after testing cancer, he was quite shattered, but my whole family supported him and didnt let him loss hope from life (Lfgren and Leeuw 2011). I have noted that my father was not able to easily grasp the medical terminology, and he also failed in understanding the procedure (Arnarnaaq, 2010). My father even struggle in his life to accept various changes that happened in his body, and for cancer, he had to go under blood transplant. Blood cancer is quite painful, as this problem is for life time. Once the blood gets impure it had to be again transplant, and this cost high for our family. This treatment impacted the life of my father and we all have to live our li fe in sadness and stress. As I was the eldest child of my parents, I took the responsibility to take my father to hospital for getting regular sessions of chemotherapy, taking appointments with doctors and hospital trips (Thompson and Merrifield 1989). It was true that my father would never get best treatment, without the involvement of his whole family. In this whole process I learned to take better decision for my family and for my father. After 14 months of his blood cancer treatment, my father diagnose with stomach cancer. This was the most painful experience for our family and for my father. After this news my family lost all hopes, but being the elder child of my family, I took responsibility and make my family understand that our father needs our help and for that we have to be with him. We took him to the hospital for his operation of stomach, so that his problem of stomach cancer could be solved. After few months, condition of my father got better, and therefore we all took him for the holidays so that he could get some change. After we return from the trip, my father was again hospitalizing for his blood transplant. Blood cancer was quite aggressive but my family was near to my father, and we all feel fortunate that in this critical time, we all are one and helping each other. During blood transplant of my father we all took a room in hospital and stayed there with him, so that we could support him and take care of him. Our other family members and friends also visited the hospital to support my father, so that he could bear that pain and recover soon. After doing so many struggles with his life, my father passed away at the age of 65, this loss was unbearable for our whole family (Carson, Dunbar, Chenhall Bailie, 2007). Its not easy to see someone go, who had spent his whole life for us to give us all facilities and good life. My siblings and mother was so much in pain, but I tried to take charge and supported my family, just like I used to support my father. My whole family tried to cope up with this loss, and I would say that it was the darkest part of my life. I have seen my family and many people from my community who had to face chronic disease and therefore, I committed my life in aboriginal health sector, so that I could serve the patients in better way and try to give them best treatment, which could improve their life and reduce their pain (Bakx, 1991). My experience in health sector has given me purpose to improve the aboriginal health status. This was quite challenging task for me, but at the same time I have faith and confidence on me. After four years of my fathers death, it was quite not easy for me to share this complete story, but the main reason, why I want to discuss it was, that I felt that this never happen with any one, but I want to make others understand what I, my father and my family went through after my father was diagnose with all these problems, and how much we all have to struggle to support him and didnt let my father morale go down (Hunter, 1993). According to the statistics, investment done in Aboriginal health is important and these issues should be regularly debated to different levels, so that health authorities could understand and try to take proper measures (Hunter, 1993). An Encounter is about a boy who decides to skip school with his friends one day. The boys friends played Cowboys and Indians often and this caused a hunger for adventure in the boys mind. The boy became convinced that exciting things only happen to those who go exploring about so he decided to ditch school one day and go into town. There the boy meets an old man and he is embarrassed of his friend and doesnt want to seem foolish. He appears well educated and like a sharp boy to the reader. The reader almost experiences an epiphany along with the boy because up until now the reader wasnt fully aware of the boys intelligence. The boy realized he didnt even like Mahoney, the friend he was running off with. The Juvenile spirit of him actually annoyed the boy. He didnt need to act cool or play hooky or read comics. He enjoyed earning, acting mature, and being a respectable boy and it took talking to this old man for him to realize that. Beeline relates the story of a woman who is planning to run off with her fiance ©. The story reads as if she has a tough home life especially since her mother died. For the first part of the story she ponders her decision wondering if she is making the right choice. She constantly is putting the promise she made to her mother in consideration. Her mother is her only reason of thinking of staying. She knows that staying involves a lot more work less respect a lot of duty ND taking care of her abusive father. The two people she cared about most in her family are already gone. In a weird sense having her mother gone is what is holding her back. She told her mom that she would make sure her father is being taken care of. She also has a bit of nostalgia for this kind of living. She admired her mother and thinks that if it was good enough for her mother than she should live the same way. Overall she decides the life is too tough and that she should elope with her lover. The reader is lead to believe she has every intention of doing so. She gets on the docks dead to run away but at the very last minute she refuses to go in a sudden realization. This comes to as a shock to the reader and it can only be assumed that she realized she had to fulfill her promise. The epiphany in Beeline was a different because she was stuck on a decision and couldnt make up her mind. So she was searching for this realization whereas the boy in An Encounter wasnt expecting to discover that he wasnt who he was pretending to be. Although she was hoping for the decision to be made the reader can note that it probably wasnt what she was expecting and it didnt come when she expected it to. In After the Race the main character Jimmy is trying to fit in with the elite and rich crowd. He does this by spending money as if he has more than he actually does, gambling, and attending the race. Jimmy goes to a hotel with his friends and then proceeds to go to a yacht. The story frequently refers to Jimmys father and how he worked so hard to get Jimmy and himself to fit into this crowd. At the end of the story when tonights fun has made an abrupt and quick transition into the next mornings troubles Jimmy and the reader realize the drunken mistake. Jimmy is in a very similar situation that the boy in An Encounter was in. The boy wanted to be a troublemaker and have no regard for learning. They both experience a societal calling. Its not socially acceptable interested in ones education or to stay at home with a book rather than drinking and gambling. Both of these characters try to reach this social status until at the end come upon a sudden realization that renders that achievement either impossible or undesirable. Beeline and Jimmy are in almost entirely opposite situations. Beeline is attempting to do what is best for herself. She plans to elope with her loving fiance © leaving behind a troubled home life. At the end of the story, however, she is unable to go through with it making the decision that would least benefit herself. In After the Race Jimmy makes poor decision throughout the story but the reader is led to believe that his epiphany will lead him to lead a more reasonable life in the future. All three characters realize something about themselves. This is a little ironic because one would assume that when an epiphany is realized it might be of some great truth to life. It seems odd yet a little more realistic that these particular Edibleness have reached a point of true self-discovery in these epiphanies.

I have used this because it is very simple to use and to add any text, images or any tools to the website easily. When creating my website there were many tools and techniques I used to create my website and making it interactive. Adding a search bar: Search bar is really important and websites need to have a search bar as it makes it easier for the users to find something quickly. In order to create a search bar in adobe muse you will need a Google account. Then you can easily create a search engine and also you can edit it as well and when you done just click on get code .You will get a code and you need to go back to the website and just paste the code and it will occur a search bar like this. Navigation bar: Navigation bar is very useful as it helps the user to navigate the site easily; it makes the site look more professional and attractive so it can attract the audience to view the page. To add a navigation bar you need to click on Widgets library then it will appear a small window and you just need to click on Menus. Its up to you if want a horizontal or vertical menu just click on it and it will come up like this . Slideshow: Slideshow is a really useful tool to organise and compress information. By using a slideshow you can easily showcase images and can show much more information and it allows accessing the information quickly. The rollover shows that user that it is a button and that it is hyperlinked. In order to do this you can just need to click on the label and it will show you few options and then you need to click on Rollover The widgets library is really useful as you can see in the screenshot you can use different tools from to create different thing. So if you can click on the buttons it will allow you to add buttons, if you click on the menus it will allow you to add menus on the page and also if you click on the social you will be able to add different social media widgets. Master Page: A master page is like a background that you can quickly apply to many pages. If you add any objects on a master page on all pages with that master applied. Adding extra pages: I have added extra pages because they work very well for giving users a visual map of where to go. To add extra pages you just need to click on the small plus icon and it will show you a blank page and to add more pages just repeat this. I have also used some of these tools. The first tool I have used from the tool bar is the Selection tool to move objects around like images, texts etc. I have also used the text tool to create text frame and typed inside it and the last tool I have used from the toolbar is the rectangle tool and which allows drawing rectangle boxes. So you can use these tools to make the website layout professional. I have also used text tool to make the texts more visible and easy for the users to read. I have used different fonts as the font on a website is very important as it shows the style of the website I have made the texts big enough for the users so they wont have any problem understanding the text. I have also used colour to make the website looks more appealing and eye catching, so by using these tools you can easily modify I have also used the color tool to colour the texts, boxes etc. and also to make it more visible and noticeable for the users to notice. In order to add colour just click on the colour tool and it will allow you to add colour into anything. Animation: I have also used animated slide in text to make the website looks more professional. To do this you just need to go to internet and find the Html code and then insert the code into the box and click ok. The plan mode: There are four different plan modes. I have used the plan mode; the plan mode is the structure of the site or the site map. The design mode where you can edit the pages and add different tools. So if you click on the Design it will allow you to add tools on the pages and make some changes etc. Also the Preview mode allows you to review the page and you can see what you have done and it allows accessing the tools you have used on the pages. The last is the publish mode I didnt use that mode, it allows you to upload the website to the business catalyst and can easily view it on online. Microsoft PowerPoint: I have used Microsoft PowerPoint to remove the background of the images. To make it fit with pages I had to use PowerPoint because you can easily remove the background of the image in a PowerPoint and its much faster than Photoshop and its very easy to do it. Structure Diagrams: The stricture diagram for website shows how website will linked webpages are access and stucturesd. The websites usually only uses three different structures: linear, hierarchical and matrix. Structure diagram helped me to plan how I wanted the pages to be structure. The structure diagram helped me to get started fast and I have made the website in a hierarchical way because it is structures with each web page and linked with a number of different pages. The hearicaial is a good way for the user to access the website; as the hierarchy gets higher, the content is more refined by the user is trying to locate. Story Board: Before even construct my website a plan was needed in order to make sure I knew what was to be put on the website. After this, through the use of a storyboard it made it easy to construct a website based on the designs. From the story board and planning of my website. I finally came to the end of the website and I realised that at first it seemed like a very long process when I started making the website it helped a lot as I could easily reference to make sure that my initial ideas we all included. Mood boards: Mouldboard also helped a lot when I was constructing the website. This helped me to make sure what colour, texts and images would be the best for the website and would make it look professional and eye catching. Through the use of mood board I made the website looks professional.
